Course Works:
Linear relationship between Celsius and Fahrenheit
*Equation of converting C to F should be "C=(F-32)*5/9
Finding the temperature at cross-section between copper and aluminum.
Using Rcopper and Raluminum to find the Rtotal.
Quantitative Thermal Conductivity:
Graph of temperature changed inside and outside of the can.
And use the graph to find the slope as dQ.
Recorded experiment data and calculating the thermal conductivity of aluminum.
The thermal conductivity of aluminum I calculated(k=6.44E-5 W/m*K) is way off than actual value(k=205.0 W/m*K).
Heat Transfer as Energy Exchange:
Using immersion heater to heat up 200ml of water and measure the temperature changed in 20 seconds.
Recorded experiment data and calculated experimental power value.
Graph of heat vs temperature.
Today, we start from units conversion of temperature and learned the concepts of thermal conductivity and heat transfer in lecture. In the laboratory, we use the experimental data to calculated the conductivity of aluminum can and calculated the power of immersion heater. The slope of temperature vs time graph is changed heat over time. The slope of heat vs temperature is specific heat capacity.
